SPEECH
Being able to communicate well with others is a major part of the real world. Speech has helped me learn the skills I need to be able to successively talk with others such as persuade others towards an idea and even present projects to people. The first example I have chosen is my Introduction speech, which was our very first speech for the semester. This speech was to be a minute long, and had to introduce one of my fellow classmates. Since it was the first speech, I was extremely nervous so I prepared quite a bit. Through the shaking of my hands and a few mess ups throughout the speech, I managed to do quite well. In my opinion, I have improved since then. The second example I chose was my Persuasive Speech. This speech was done with a partner, so it was required to be a little longer and was around 7 minutes. My partner and I did our speech on the installment of breathalyzers in all vehicles around the country. Since this was a speech done later in the semester, we were graded harder and in more categories. With this, I learned how to use a powerpoint to my advantage when speaking and also learned how to speak with another person. Altogether, speech has strengthened my public speaking. This is a valuable skill to possess and will benefit me in the future.
