SOCIOLGY
Sociology has always been an elective that I wanted to take in high school. This class has taught me about the diversity of cultures around the world, government types, and even different religions. At the beginning of this class, I thought that I wouldn’t really enjoy it, but being able to understand more about the way society works and functions has interested me. An example I have chosen for this class is a quiz on the book Animal Farm. Animal Farm was more than just reading the words of the book, but understanding and dissecting the content. This book is more than just a story about animals on a farm, but about Stalin, Hitler, and Churchill and the history of our world. To be able to well on this quiz, I had to slow down and focus and analyze the meaning behind each chapter. Just like reading this book, at a future job, I may have to slow down and carefully analyze something. Being able to understand something further than just the actual words is a good skill to have.
