Literature is an important class that students must take all through high school. It teaches you grammar, reading skills, and writing skills that are necessary to know. Everyone in society needs to be able to apply basic literature rules to everyday life. The example I have chosen is a excellence assignment in which I had to create a newspaper article about Lord of the Flies. I enjoyed doing this assignment because I was able to show my understanding of the book, but also got to add creativity at the same time. To be able to do well on this project, I had to thoroughly read and understand the book. If I would have not read, I would have done poorly. At a future job, employers will be able to give me a task and ensure that I will accomplish it. English classes have expanded my knowledge and have improved my skills.
